amazing luminosity?

Post by gilgamorph » Sat Apr 28, 2012 5:55 am

Am I reading this right? The lhc-statistics page shows that for the last stable beam prior to the TS (fill 2536) CMS showed a delivered liuminosity of 144003.7 nb-1.

Is this 1/7th of a fb-1 on a single fill?????

The figure is roughly correct although the luminosity still needs calibration
Even last year they got to 123000/nb in one fill, but it took 15 hours. This new record was done in under 10.
