They got 10.115/μb/s in CMS. That is one tenth of the way to their base target luminosity for this year. I think that is what they were getting excited about

The current run had a peak lumninosity of 1.6 MHz/barn, about 10% better than previous records.
I think there will a technical stop from Monday for a couple of days. When it returns they are likely to go for more bunches, maybe 24.

The results of the GSM Hump test was negative. Just another possibility ruled out.

femtobarn is smaller than nanobarn, so inverse femtobarn is bigger than inverse nanobarn. It is terminology designed to confuse. Today's run was the best yet with about 15 hours of stable beams and luminosities above 1.0 for most of the run. No sign if the sharp losses seen on previous runs. integrated luminosity was about 50 inverse nanobarns taking accumulated total to around 200 inverse nanobarns. LHC is starting to behave...

That was an excellent run this morning with 9 bunches and good luminosity around 0.8 . Probably added about 25 to 30 inverse nanobarns in one run. Next they are stepping up to 12 bunches.

They are planning to attempt multibunch injections for the first time. That means sending more than one bunch from the SPS into the LHC in one go. it will be interesting to see what that looks like on the vistas.
