Re: 2022 Operation

I recall the target line was modified a few months back - was that the case?

Re: 2022 Operation

That wsj article is firewalled. This link may just say the same, which indicates up to 25% consumption reduction from non-LHC facilities. I'd expect there are detailed contingency plans for what can be de-energised and for how long and to what schedule, or even a short term sacrifice of some program...

Re: 2022 Operation

OMG.

Does that mean the next period of MD is going to be pruned?

Re: 2022 Operation

Ta muchly. I can now appreciate that 5*36*16 = 5*48*12, so re-arranging the deckchairs has tweaked the heat load down a titch.

Re: 2022 Operation

They have just gone from 240bpi-12inj to 180bpi-16inj. Any ideas what that changes and why ?

Re: 2022 Operation

It's good to see the "Schedule, Predicted and Achieved Luminosity" datapoints starting to creep up again. Can't wait to see a nice summary/assessment of downtime causes and remedial actions.

Re: 2022 Operation

The Dashboard Heat Load plot seems to show the recent step up from 192 to 240bpi, but sadly the Cryo Status plot has not recently been showing resolution of temps due to auto-scaling of one outlier.

Re: 2022 Operation

Thanks for the link to the public plots. Yeh that Cryo Status summary plot certainly shows some locations that still heat up significantly more than others.

I guess 25ns_1935b_1922_1602_1672_192bpi is colloquially referred to as a 1900b fill even though it seems partially loaded by 1602 and 1672 ?

Here's hoping they get stable beams with 2100b. There seem to be a few UFO endings.

Re: 2022 Operation

Feedback from reddit is that there are a few ad-hoc sectors showing higher than expected e-cloud losses, and although scrubbing is having some effect it is not improving as rapidly as hoped.
