I'm more for thinking that there's some sort of error in our understanding of physics. Both dark matter and dark energy seem like fudges to make our existing equations work. Thanks for the info. If I recall the 2008 incident was caused by substandard welding on the electrical interconnects and also inadequate pressure release on the helium containment, which blew at least one magnet of it's mounts.

The scientist I referred to at the end, wasn't a scientist from the 'incrowd' the minister followed a scientist with a political background. That's why I wrote second last paragraph 'top' scientists.
