Pre-Big Bang Activity

Post by Allan » Sat Nov 27, 2010 4:15 pm

Hi

I just read an interesting article written by Roger Penrose about the possibility of pre-Big Bang activity.

http://arxiv.org/pdf/1011.3706v1

I would be interested in hearing others comments on this.

Penrose's talk about that (before the paper was published so it's rather about his theory than about the data) can be found on Youtube.

If he's right then our notion of time or space is completely subjective and incorrect - the universe's "framework" runs on something else which can skip these boring parts where we consider things infinitely large, infinitely long or infinitely compressed.
Considering how mysterious and complicated the quantum world is, I'd not be surprised if the "large scale" was similar.

But regarding the paper, I still can believe there's chance these structures have origin in our universe after big bang. If they're real of course - but I think they are.
