Forum software update

Post by Xymox » Mon Nov 22, 2010 11:44 pm

There is a major new version of the forum software available..

I will have to workout a timeframe to upgrade the forum. The forum will be down during the upgrade. This is a major upgrade and might have issues, you never know.. They changed ALOT of stuff.. Im going to give it a few days and watch the PHPBB forums and make sure the new version is stable first. Plan on maybe the weekend for the upgrade.

Is there any specific urgency for the upgrade ? If not how about doing it during the LHC Christmas downtime ?

Well.....

There were issues...

So we stayed on the old system...

BUT I have now tested a solution on my own forum board and it worked... So I will be undertaking upgrading this one shortly.. Like in the next 4 days as I am hugely over busy work wise..

This is actually a serious priority. There are security updates in this version upgrade. Its possible spammers might be able to compromise our board.. So this is pretty serious.

I will attempt to do the upgrade as soon as i can...
