Interesting loss pattern "Guess the Cause" :-)

In the slides from today's meeting there is a strange loss pattern shown on slide 3:

It does not fit with the pattern of a falling dust particle like the "UFO" events.

My first idea is a fiber-like structure which came loose on one end and oscillates through
the beams way. Maybe in 2 superimposed modes.
Any ideas about that or other causes?

My idea is it might have been dust particle that broke to several pieces and each got "annihilated" on its own path.
