I believe this refers to the Totem experiment that has detectors that have to get very close to the beam by using http://cerncourier.com/cws/article/cern/35883 Roman Pots (RP).

It also includes LHCb's VELO - but thanks for working out what "Roman Pots" meant!

Both detectors are liable to be damaged if used on anything but a stable beam.
