how do I disable smilies when posting?

Post by morgad » Fri Apr 02, 2010 8:25 pm

Is there any way I can get rid of the smilie panel on the right side of the screen when posting to the forum?
It causes the page take up to a minute to displaye, and then uses >95% cpu while displaying

(I have ticked the 'disable smilie' box)

I have told Adblock Plus to block all your /Forum/images/smilies/ URL's, and the problem has gone away ...

click the ABP icon on top-right of screen,
click 'open blockable items'
click on any line with /Forum/images/smilies/ in it
hit enter to edit it
trim the direcotory/filename from right side so that it ends in 'smiles/'
then click on 'add' to add the filter

best regards
Dave
