Anything happening ?

Post by godzila » Fri Jun 17, 2011 11:27 am

Well a bit provocative I know... but with that nice luminosity is there anything on the radar ? I don't ask for specifics - I know about all the embargoes and restrictions on information - but just something in the tune "yes, we are seeing interesting or even better, unexpected events ?"

No information about results can be released without the approval of the entire collaboration so any sneak peaks and hints could get someone in big trouble with their colleagues.
However there are some big physics meetings happening this summer as mentioned by Steve Myers here http://www.interactions.org/cms/?pid=1030846
like
http://indico.in2p3.fr/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=5116
and
http://www.tifr.res.in/~lp11/
and a bunch more
http://www.conference-service.com/confe ... ators.html

Any new finds would likely be announced at one of these conferences and I imagine the data is being analysed as we speak and papers being hastily written.

Here are some nice summary talks from last week

There seem to be a lot of papers in the pipeline.

Here's an interesting article - http://www.symmetrymagazine.org/breakin ... milestone/

They don't appear to be finding anything yet, but they are making progress on ruling some things out.
