could the big bang theory be wrong?!!!

so i came across this article when trying to convince my girfreind that the big bang theory is true. the research seems legit, but i dont know enough about physics and astronomy to understand it completly. what do you guys think of it?

Quasars are typical for certain era in the history of the universe - so quasars we see closer to us are older (in terms of their absolute age), may have different size (bigger) and their processes may be slower. But this is no better than explanations given in the article

I don't think it contradicts big bang theory, the measurement itself is based on big bang theory, without that we couldn't use redshift to measure distances.
