While not the main event yet, LHCb is showing possible collision events live at around 2hz

Have not checked but seems perfect fast... The ElReg story was sure to increase our load.. Always does..

I need to point out that these are beam/gas collisions, not Proton vs proton collisions..

But very soon... The main event..

So it's like proton-graphite collisions we discussed earlier - nothing the media could eventually complain about,

Good job. It's always nice waking up and hearing about a new record.

At 12:58 PM Cern time Logbook said "First collisions at 3.5TeV per beam!"

Historic!

ATLAS just reported a collision rate of 50/60Hz, which is apparently as planned.

Wonderful moment :D

60 Hz is much better than 1-2 Hz last year. But still - I think they'll have to increase number of bunches per beam soon if they want to collect the planned amount of data.

Beams dumped at 16:31 due to an LBDS interlock; LBDS is LHC Beam Dump System so I suspect that this was not planned. They are investigating

Log file shows the following:

Beam dumped because of tracking error of Principal circuit of generator MKD K beam 2.
Recorded a positive tracking error of 0.5 %

However, almost 3 hours of Physics run was achieved :)
