Hi hi hi there

Post by naka » Thu Jan 21, 2010 3:28 am

I'm just an Internet traveller who came across #lhc on EFNet one day and thought I'd see what was shaking in the particle physics world. I only know some high school physics and what I've picked up here and there but I'm keen to learn more about the LHC and its quarks and quirks.

Hello naka,

welcome in the LHCportal.

Don't be surprised when youdonN't find any recent posts about the main topic, but this will become much more once the LHC is back from winter breake end of february, now ther is just not much interesting going on ther and even less news about what they are really doing there now.
Actually they should be alredy into the comissionig of the magnets for higher currents to accelerate to higher energies later in the year.
Stay tuned it surely becomes more interesting here when LHC is back in action.

beye

Christian
bye

Naka,
The date we are all waiting for is feb 20th.
Then they'll fire up the refurbished and souped up LHC, and the fun starts.
You could start by reading "The LHC enters a new phase" (includes a cool video):
