So what happens to the data generated at the LHC? It get sent to other centers for processing.
First it starts at CERN tier zero https://cmsweb.cern.ch/T0Mon/
Then to regional Centres like this one in Germany http://www.gridka.de/monitoring/main.html
Or Spain http://www.hep.uniovi.es/ganglia/ who process it and distribute it to other centers for scientists to analyse.
Anyone who actually knows about this care to add anything? lol

If you would like to help in processing the massive amount of data generated by the LHC...

Harbles, mrgrumby,

Thanks for the links, the info is very very cool, how to contribute to the effort by donating unused CPU time, and what stable beams actually look like, unreal, and how personal computer's calculate different results based on the hardware architecture, just to mention a few things.

Rhody...

HEYA.. I just post this link.. and I think "donating" our computer to received "jobs" from LHC would be cool! Besides we can collect the BOINC credit from it! I also love to monitor the grid data "transaction" on this link:
http://rtm.hep.ph.ic.ac.uk/webstart.php It's a real time data!
