Re: Creating "Sparks"

Gravity is by far the weakest of the known forces. According to general relativity, mass "warps" space-time to create gravitational fields and therefore bend light as a result. (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravitational_lens ) Particles forming cosmic rays have very small rest mass, so are...

ok one last post just to tease you all ;) This image is a "Crab" nubula, being the remains of a Supernova Explosion, the one at the left is just a balloon http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/9840/explotion.jpg btw check this Blue one out at National Geographic, and look at the spiral thing it the mid...

Re: I absolutely hate this experiment

Guess this comes down to personal view really, so as such thats my view above, and I respect your thoughts in the other aspects, but ultimately im not educated enough to know all that they do, and cant show anything but the evidence in our galaxy etc. I appreciate your carefree way of looking at th...

Re: I absolutely hate this experiment

if these things were possible with any number of probability above like 0% we would have seen the trail of destruction by now. We do see supernovas; the principle is based on gravity collapse, but gravity is still not fully understood, isn't the search for the graviton still on. I believe there is ...

Re: I absolutely hate this experiment

If humans were thinking like that from the beginning one they would never tried to utilize fire (there was the possibility that the whole village would be burned or even worse, because from nature only huge forrestfires where known by them and it was not sure if fire could be contained in a rather ...

Re: Creating "Sparks"

"3x10^22 cosmic rays with energies of 10^17 eV or more, equal to or greater than the LHC energy, have struck the Earth’s surface since its formation". This is not correct it refers to the image, and the text below it says: Every cosmic ray with an energy shown in this plot, namely above 1017 eV, li...

Re: Creating "Sparks"

Plubp, a side of a frog jumping into the pool, still no answers. btw, I had some numbers not properly explained on my previous post. The table is related to the energy needed to measure the energy of: 1 eV = 1 electron volt -> Atom: 10^-9 m 1 GeV = 10^9 (giga) -> Proton: 10^-16 m 10 TeV = 10x10^12 (...

He is really cool. He is a dad... Imagine his kids must be pretty proud of their dad.. I can imagine the whole family sitting at the table with their hair standing straight up because of all the electricity in the air. Im sorry I have not had time to focus on your questions. I have a pressing proje...

Re: Creating "Sparks"

Only reason I split that up is because energy is a horrible concept, and it's horrible to define, and it confuses everyone I know - everyone in my physics class would agree! (or more likely, disagree - we've argued about it. A lot.) Einstein proved with E=mc^2 that mass is energy, so everything is ...

Re: Creating "Sparks"

Theoretically, I think, anything has a chance of getting through without interacting - remember most of the world is empty space between nuclei, electrons and whatnot! The whatnot would be space full of Higgs bosons, interacting at different levels with different particles. check this clip: http://...

Re: Creating "Sparks"

Hi Danny, thx for you reply. Gamma rays are just (high energy) p h otons. To the best of my knowledge, you're not going to affect a photon with a magnetic field - magnetic fields only affect charged particles and other magnets. Primary Cosmic Rays are p r otons, with a +1 electric charge. http://en....

Re: Creating "Sparks"

Why ? I would think once you get anything going at 99.99999999999~~~~ of the speed of light it really just becomes energy ? No ? Im making this up as I go so no fact checking hehe... But I think it really does ? For this 0.000000000000000000~1 percent the LHC is made because there is a difference o...
