Re: 666
Please advise your decision. Sincerely Yours, Edward Pogorelov. My decision is to not waste my timeon this unless you actually bother to state what your point is. I am a professed atheist, while I respect others points of view on religion I do not see what selectively quoting the Bible at me is goi...

Re: all constants since the big bang are variable ... evolving
[pedant] But a constant can't be variable, if it was it wouldn't be a constant [/pedant]

I've noticed that they often don't update the graphics in the middle of page 1 if there's nothing worth showing.

Well the link was added to the English version a few minutes ago. Added by the same person who put it on the German article.

Re: Daily Schedules and Hiccups
not to sound pessimistic... but i wonder if electrical issues are going to be a recurring theme. I mean this thing needs a lot of juice and there are a lot of connections along with micronic resistance tolerances. It really is mind boggling how many things have to work together in order for this cl...

Re: planets rotation
an apocalypse in the year not to be named. More like pretty much any year that you care to name  The end of the world has been predicted so many times its getting pretty tedious. I don't really see the point, I mean it's not like your going to get any satisfaction from being right is it ?

Chris, now that the LHC is producing real data it might be time to think about replacing the great but simulated picture you have on the portal for a real one ?

Re: ** current events and discussion **
Wow, at this rate they'll reach the full 14 TeV in less than a year. These guys lose no time. ;) Anyway I believe after setting a new world record at 2.36 TeV they will now focus on ramping up the intensity rather than the energy. That would certainly make sense. They need higher intensity to produ...

I'm wrong, I'm very wrong. And I'm very glad I am wrong.
Wow - good spot Chris and way to go LHC guys !

Re: *** POSSIBLE 2.3TeV collisions ***
OK, sceptic here
Beam 1 was lost pretty soon after they hit 1.18 TeV, make the possiblity of collisons low I think. I hope I'm wrong though.

In retrospect I'm not convinced. Beam 1 was lost pretty soon after they hit 1.18 TeV. I hope I'm wrong though.Xymox wrote:***** POSSIBLE 2.36TeV collisions ******
ALERT...
Lets wait for confirmation..... 1.18 TeV per beam is confirmed...

[pedant] 0.98 TeV actually [/pedant]Gryzo wrote:I also read the progress report as "1.1 TeV collissions Friday night".
The 1.1 is of course no coincidence, as the Tevatron only does 1 TeV.
