Re: LIGO - Was It All Just Noise?
when you collide particles do you produce waves that travell through the Higgs Field No you do not. Do you really want to drive your own thread off-topic? It's not off-topic, because the issues with the LIGO experiment show how difficult it is to detect something within the noise. As a matter of fa...

Re: LIGO - Was It All Just Noise?
Yes, I was referring to that post. It is a random collection of words without any physics in it. The physics is straightforward, when you collide particles do you produce waves that travell through the Higgs Field (SpaceTime) that shake up surrounding matter, like when you drop a stone in a pond, a...

Re: LIGO - Was It All Just Noise?
It also puts my argument, of how to detect collision vibrations at the LHC, back on the table. There is not even an argument. Randomly collecting words is not an argument. That wasn't an argument on itself, it was a reference to the argument in my first post: This begs for an other questi...

Re: LIGO - Was It All Just Noise?
Apparently they have published everything, here's a reaction from LIGO: http://www.preposterousuniverse.com/blog/2017/06/18/a-response-to-on-the-time-lags-of-the-ligo-signals-guest-post/ But it seems to be besides the point as the issue is with the templates, as explained in the video by the Danish...

Re: LIGO - Was It All Just Noise?
The article doesn't state if LIGO actually also published that 'more intricate' method somewhere. I know the original publication. Yes they did. They have discussed the 'more intricate method' in their paper, but they didn't publish the method itself. Anyway, I guess that's not the key issue here, ...

Re: LIGO - Was It All Just Noise?
LIGO published the 'more intricate' analysis. That's what Sabine is saying. I am not sure about this. The Danish group used the method published by LIGO on their webside, and it was 'a mojor shortcoming' vs. the 'more intricate' method. The article doesn't state if LIGO actually also publis...

Re: LIGO - Was It All Just Noise?
The arxiv submission is very questionable. A major shortcoming of the Danish group’s analysis that they pointed out to me is that the Danes use methods based on tutorials from the LIGO Website, but these methods do not reach the quality standard of the – more intricate – data analysis that was used...

LIGO - Was It All Just Noise?
New article/paper on the LIGO gravity waves detector, asking the question if it was simply noise. This begs for an other question if the LHC is actually able to detect anything out of the ordinary, such as collision-waves that might combust surrounding matter and cause a global inferno fueled by sub...

I'm probably one of the last 'activists' convinced that the LHC is trouble!
So I am keeping an eye on everything and poking where it is needed!
Where have you been Charms? Long time no see!

Are you laughing because your country's government is shady as well? What country are you from?neocortex wrote:Double LOLYou should contact your local government who funds CERN to ask why they are making these meetings privy, because that whasn't in the deal.

Re: Where's the link to LHC morning meeting documentation?
That is really unfortunate they restricted the morning meetings like that … it will be very hard to find out what is going on … It is probably because they are going to start doing some shady things. You should contact your local government who funds CERN to ask why they are making these meetings p...

If you hear little voices in your head, you should seek professional help. No need to get help when you have a 'concience'. conscience ˈkɒnʃ(ə)ns/ noun a person's moral sense of right and wrong, viewed as acting as a guide to one's behaviour. "he had a guilty conscience about his desires" synonyms:...

Oh, but I am not a troll, I am more like that little voice in your head asking the question is it actually meaningful what I am working on, or should I perhaps do something more useful with my precious time here on this wonderful planet Earth.dukwon wrote:mfb, why do you feed the troll? Re: New LHC Results Hint At New Physics, But Are We Crying W
No, the proper way to do science. Oh man, you can buy at Amazon a Cloud Chamber kit for $38 that has more energy than the particle-collisions at the LHC: https://www.amazon.com/CL-Cloud-Chamber-Kit/dp/B0168SCCJO The standard model was build with what we got out of those already in the 1960's, the H...

The struggle to squeeze one last drop out of the experiment. The combined significance is much larger than the significance of the individual measurements.
