Re: Creating "Sparks"

Stephen wrote:The Kite Runner is an awesome book, but the movie isn't that great.
Yeah, you could tell that the story was over-shortened and lost some of it's finesse. I guess it would have been ideal for a television series. Nice cinematography though, and cool kites.

Re: Creating "Sparks"

And particles don't collide the same way 'real world' objects do. They act more like when galaxies collide - they rather simply pass through each other, pulling strings of unbalanced forces on which new particles materialize because of quantum effects. Whatever materializes there has pretty good ch...

Re: Creating "Sparks"

Do you suggest that this phenomenon might be caused by cosmic rays and therefore invalid the astrophysical argument regarding strangelets production? They might be caused by cosmic-ray impacts, I don't think "stranglets" exist, I do believe a chain-reaction that smashes nuclei could be possible, an...

Re: Creating "Sparks"

And if we are talking about lunatics there is a rare event on the moon: "Transient Lunar Phenomenon" where a serious light flash is produced (see pic.). Re: Creating "Sparks"

it didn't collapse from the impact of the airplanes hitting the building If the last domino in the row falls down, was it because you pushed the first one or not? I think if this would have happened on the moon, these buildings would still be standing because the circumstances are different. In WTC...

Re: Creating "Sparks"

Yes, if you asked a statics expert whether WTC will collapse, he'd tell you that there is no legal concern for it. And I'm pretty sure there was a lunatic somewhere saying that building is unstable and will collapse sooner or later. The fact is, it collapsed. Now tell me, does it make the lunatic r...

Re: Creating "Sparks"

my Idea is that the debree of the first collission may contain something watever it is what will only grow in case other particles will interact with it with a rather small momentum, which would be the case fore the headoncollissions of the LHC, but on the other hand is so unstabele that it would b...

Re: Creating "Sparks"

please dont ignore mycreation of new sparks . I have, but there are a few things I don't understand: It's consent that cosmic rays hitting a stationary target leave debris with a high velocity also called high impulse compared to the surrounding matter. Its also consent that the head-on collisions ...

Re: Creating "Sparks"

actually the Higgs-field that has been postulated nowadays is some sort of an aether. Thats also what I am thinking since I read about this Higgs-filed for the first time. You are right that Einstein didn't disproof aether but only found a way to explain the observations without neccessaryly asumin...

Re: Creating "Sparks"

Do you think these strange quark stars were created as a result of cosmic rays collisions? I'm skeptical about these Strange-quark or Black-hole theories. In both cases it's all about gravity creating such elements. But gravity might have an external origin, caused by movement in an aether, like th...

Re: Creating "Sparks"

This article is out of date. New measurements have shown that it is only shining from its polar caps and the size had to be corrected making it no longer a candidate for a quark star. See reference: http://arxiv.org/abs/astro-ph/0208069 You are probably right, although there are some other more rec...

So if anything terrible would be created by high energy particles striking a dense target that they can not escape from neutron stars would only excist for a neglegible time. Re: Creating "Sparks"

The higest energies recorded in cosmic rays is about 3*10^20 eV, which is 8 orders of magnitude higher then the LHC energy and can not possibly be reached by a manmade machine. From all we know nature does not allow global doomsday scenarios, because if it would the universe would have ended long b...

Atmosphere didn't burn not because we were lucky but because there is no chance it can burn. And people involved in the program knew it because they were actually able to do all necessary calculations. Calculations aren't always right, therefor testing, check out this story of 'The Lucky Dragon": W...
