Re: ATLAS project requests links be restricted.
I am now begging and pleading with the CMS guys... Same issues.. I believe some restrictions will be placed on some stuff. Hopefully nothing that is cool. A link was removed from the commisioning page. The 3 week excel work book showing the current plan. That was a LHC page.. So some things are gett...

conspiracy theories
I noticed in the portal web stats that we have gotten a lot of hits from http://www.godlikeproductions.com/ which is a "conspiracy forum".. This caused me some pause... While I would enjoy the ability to debate conspiracies surrounding the LHC, I want to be clear on my personal standpoint on this. I...

Re: Hmmm.......
http://arxiv.org/ is NOT peer reviewed. Thats important to keep in mind. That means that other scientists have not independently reviewed the papers for errors and only a very basic check is done.
So its important to keep that in mind.

EeV or PeV will alarm me and I know physicists will take those kinds of energies seriously. So I am still not too worried. But what I fou...

This is a interesting new paper http://arxiv.org/PS_cache/arxiv/pdf/0911/0911.1884v1.pdf "The existence of extra spatial dimensions [1, 2] and a sufficiently small fundamental scale of gravity opens up the possibility that microscopic black holes can be produced and detected [3, 4, 5] at the Large H...

antimatter detected in lightning
While antimatter isn't as rare as most people think, fining it being generated by lightning is surprizing.

ATLAS project requests links be restricted.
I have received a request from the ATLAS team expressing concern about the links I provide and they consider some of the links private. I am of course very happy to help CERN. They will be deciding what should be public. I have begged that they reconsider the decision. Until then I have VERY regretf...
