Re: Let's go hump hunting!
it is hard to belive that with some of the smartest people in the world working at cern they still havent found what is causing the hump!

Re: Current Events Discussion
so i was watching the colissions and the beam just disiapeard. no dump or anything, yet the display still shows stable beams. so what is going on?

could the big bang theory be wrong?!!!
http://www.physorg.com/news190027752.html
so i came across this article when trying to convince my girfreind that the big bang theory is true. the research seems legit, but i dont know enough about physics and astronomy to understand it completly. what do you guys think of it?

Re: Loss of Energy
Speaking of electrons why is it that the LHC can’t collide them? Why do you need a linear accelerator to do that?

Re: Current Events Discussion
how much of the beam comissioning they are doing now will need to be repeated when they run at 7Tev? will all of the work they are doing now, need to be done at the higher energy, or can they skip some steps beacuse they already did them at 3.5 Tev? i basically want to know if we will be waiting the...

Re: Current Events Discussion
how much longer are they going to do squeez commissioning? isn"t it about time for collisions with squeezed beams!

Re: 7E10 single injections
how much harder is it to run the lhc with higher intensity beems like 11e10. is it takeing them longer to increase the beam intensity becuase they are worried about damgeing the machine or is it becuase it is more chalengeing to run with higher intensites.
