I think he has missed the part in particle physics 101 where they say "subatomic particles behave like particles and waves at the same time" and aside from that it was the typical nonsensical jumble of scientific sounding sentences.

Here is what I have guessed... When there is one bunch in the beam (or perhaps the beam is unbunched) there is only 1 spot... The 4 spots are, I assume, each of the 4 bunches in the beam - looking at other screens it seems the beam wanders about in the tube quite a bit which would explain their rath...

Also I am told that near real time displays are coming for the other experiments. They never figured people would want to see them ( ?!?! )... You would have thought that being geeks themselves (by definition!) they would have realised that there are several of us out in the real world who want to ...
