Re: Slight disruption of service

I could ask, hahahaha... The styles are created and maintained by independent people. The old style Black Pearl has not been updated since 2013. There are requests by others to update it and the author of the style has not responded since 2013. But I did send a PM to him asking for a update. None o...

Re: Slight disruption of service

Can't you ask the guys that build these things to make/include a style that looks like the old one, with no worries for you. 😜

Re: LIGO - Was It All Just Noise?

There is no indication that it could, and these black holes would be obvious if they would have been produced. Even if could, they wouldn't produce notable gravitational waves. You probably mean here ' detectable '. Both. It is something like 50 to 100 orders of magnitude too weak to be detected, a...

Re: Slight disruption of service

Hey, thanks for the tip on changing the layout, I didn't know that was possible. I've seen you mentioning it, but thought that is was for picking a 'final' layout. I don't believe it's that hard to create a style template that is similar to the old style but you need to fiddle those php pages, anywa...

Re: Slight disruption of service

Hi, Just want to complain that I miss the old style, the beige is mèh. It's difficult to filter out what is the tittle etc. it's almost all white-ish. :geek: Also having the avatars etc. on the right side, why? :? BTW I can't even place an image over here without getting an error: https://i.i...

Have fun playing with board, express yourself!!!

BTW can't you fit in those 'missing' images manually by yourself. 15 min. of work and it's done.

Re: ** POSSIBLE DISRUPTION OF SERVICE **

I don't mind the green it gives it a kind of Type O Negative look. I guess the red as before would make it more 'traditional' and more habitual. Maybe you could hire someone on freelancer for fixing the templates, but who am I to say I also have somewhere an old site running in Joomla from...

Re: ** POSSIBLE DISRUPTION OF SERVICE **

Howdy, What a surprise today! Congratulations on the transion, the grey is a bit flu and the white background here in the reply window hurts my eyes … but nothing really to complain about. What I am missing in the frontpage are the date of the new/last posts. In the past I would just scrol...

http://www.preposterousuniverse.com/blog/2017/06/18/a-response-to-on-the-time-lags-of-the-ligo-signals-guest-post/ You're late, I already posted a link to that (original) response a few posts ago. There is however a new article by Ethan Siegel on the subject: https://www.forbes.com/sites/startswith...

Re: LIGO - Was It All Just Noise?

Both. It is something like 50 to 100 orders of magnitude too weak to be detected, and also 20 to 50 orders of magnitude too weak to play a role in the collision. It is so utterly negligible that it doesn't even need more precise estimates. Sure one or two collisions per second are 'negligible' but ...

The LHC can produce Micro Black Holes, and if LIGO detects waves from BH's that are 2 million light years away … than surely there are vibrations at the LHC. Billions. Think!

Re: LIGO - Was It All Just Noise?

Some things are very easy to spot … This is a bit different from gravitational wave detectors … Well that is my point from the start, the LHC can only detect the linear decay that I mentioned previously, but not the other vibrations that the LHC is producing at a frequency and density that is a bil...
