Re: Shut down

Well, I hope this dosen't appear negative, but didn't they have a year to do this while the last repair was being made? Do not underestimate how big this project is. There is never enough time to do all the things that you want to do. And then, along the way, you get new ideas and learn things abou...

Re: Several biggest errors of particle physicists.

The only way I believe theories that I do not direct understand is if there is a significant consensus among people who *understand* the science behind it - in detail. Aye. As I wrote before - show me the experimental proof and the peer reviews and we might be able to discuss stuff. Without it, no ...

Re: Several biggest errors of particle physicists.

At the end of the article the author try to calm the readers that LHC will collide protons with the energy only about 450 GeV. But the calculation (two independent approaches) gives us the value about 250 GeV. ... The 250 GeV energy per colliding proton was already achieved at RHIC. Experimentalist...

2. I hate physicists who undergo our lives to death risk. .... Big Bang is a Religious Dogma, built on theft, deception, lies, crime. .... Contemporary scientists are thieves, witches, bandits and potential killers. .... But bigbangers will non listen me. They would explode the Earth better. Religi...

Re: Several biggest errors of particle physicists.

You make so many assumptions and yet not deliver a single experimental evidence, that i would be really surprised if your ideas are even self consistent. My main theory “Ever Young Universe” has much less assumption as Big Bang Dogma with all its unproved fantasies and especially invented essences,...

Re: Several biggest errors of particle physicists.

Ok, my bets are Well, if my theory is not a theory at all, then place your bets, gentlemen! What will happen when at LHC they reach the equality pФ / S = mc^2? (p – magnetic moment of x-boson; Ф - magnetic flux through the Compton surface of proton; mc^2 – rest energy of proton.) 1. This will create...

Re: Several biggest errors of particle physicists.

You still haven't explained the existence of neutron stars and white dwarfs, which are much denser than the earth, and wouldn't be here if dangerous monopoles could be created in particle collisions. The existence of neutron stars and white dwarfs can be applicable as an argument against microscopi...

I am back from my undercover mission. Unfortunaly an old Prof. :character-oldtimer: caught me and discovered, that i am from the experimental department. Re: Dimuon events seen at LHCb and CMS

This Dimuon event is a J/Psi candidate. The J/Psi decays among other channels into two muons and is important, because it can be well reconstructed.

I am not into theory either, but i reason the following: Image an asteriod falling into the black hole. Sitting on the asteroid, you will expierence the ride into the black hole with your "normal" time. But when you want to inform your buddy outside about your ride, the information he will receive h...

Re: Uncertainty in calculations

You can calculate it, the answer just will not be a single (infinite small) point in space. So, the answer will be a distribution, but it is not the case that that the calculus is in itself incorrect? Edit: Maybe one more remark. The problem at such small scales is, that you somewhat lose the conce...
