Re: What Religious belief are you?

Faith is merely, and according to a dictionary, trust in a person or thing. You and I do not know is we even exist; anything, after all, can be proven. You have to trust that your scientific evidence and calculations are true, and you have to trust that they can be built upon, by other scientists, a...

Re: What Religious belief are you?

Personally, I cannot fathom neuroscience somehow managing to explain the same exact view for everybody who has died, even those of Atheists-- or any religion at that-- who convert to Christianity after a Near Death Experience. However... Yes, please post some research papers on it. I would love to s...

Re: Several biggest errors of particle physicists.

I guess you are actually right. I did not take that into consideration; however, regardless of his arrogance, there should be a tiny consideration for what he has to say, at least.
Though, more than likely he is wrong; his arrogance leads his way.

Re: What Religious belief are you?

For many people science is as much matter of faith as religion. The difference is, religions usually bring us wars ... while science brought many useful things, such as fridges, cars, or internet. Exactly. I agree with this 100%. I technically am a christian, but I hate being associated with the la...

Re: What Religious belief are you?

Mrgumby Anything can be deceptive. Our proof and calculations may actually be wrong, and perhaps all of this could not have any meaning at all. That's why I believe Science ironically relies on some faith, that being the faith their observations and data will get them somewhere, will do something, a...

Re: What Religious belief are you?

Christian. No way to disprove it really. No way to prove it either. But if we may have faith that Science exists and that theories be true... Why not have faith in the unprovable? That is my belief. There is no reason for me to fathom it more so. I've asked and received. Plus, I feel religion(The Bi...

Re: Hi

There is really no such thing as being too nice: but don't let being too nice make you ignorant of people's capability of using your gracious behaviour as an advantage. As long as you are nice, I feel that things will come back around and give you a big reward! You are a very nice person, indeed. :)...

Re: Several biggest errors of particle physicists.

Interesting. I came across this post because it was a very controversial topic, according to 11K views and 60 pages of replies... I didn't read all 60 pages... I'm not going to go THAT in depth... But I did read most of the first page (which should encompass most of what this is about) I feel that (...

Re: what about science and spirituality?

Some things in life are worth the ponder. James Chadwick thought that Neutrons were unprovable as well, until he and his colleagues conducted the experiment that proved Neutrons to exist So if that is true, then maybe some day we will know of a proof for a beginning, or maybe proof of infinity. Para...

Re: Other ways our world might come to an end

Since the beginning of Time, Man has interpreted "Time" as a divine being that governs humanity and existence itself as one. We feel as though there is a clock ticking every second, but in reality, none of this is really real. Time is simply a measurement thought up by man himself, hence the End of ...

Mr. Gumby That is an incredibly awesome poem. I really enjoy the deep thought. Here is my literary analysis over it. (Brackets are comments I made on the lines) A Little Learning by Alexander Pope A little learning is a dangerous thing ; Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring : There shallow dr...

Re: Hi

Thanks everyone! Answering your question, I am from United States, Kentucky. Born and raised here, with the exception of one year in Florida. I'm not very old, actually. I'm only seventeen years old, but that only gives me more time and space to expand my horizon. I'm happy that everybody on here is...

Re: Hi

:) I could write a novel about myself, to be honest, but again, I'm not really egocentric enough to do so. Very nice to meet you! Is "Why does E=MC^2?" a really good book? I've been trying to find another good science book. :) I'm sort of clueless about certain LHC experiments and such; however, I h...
