Re: 2017 Operation
We're at a luminosity of around 1.4/nb/s so would I be right in believing they haven't tried BCMS yet this year? No, it looks clearly like BCMS. Emi is around 2.3 like BCMS Lumi is up to 1.55, which could not be achieved with 2460 bunches, if not BCMS. I guess the difference to calculation is due h...

Re: 2017 Operation
A very productive week, with a new record for peak lumi. Now 2460 bunches in, is that the maximum?
I guess there is maybe also a new 24h record.
I hope mfb can give a short summary from the morning meeting.

Re: Which page holds the correct luminosity results?
The 1st one are very raw, the even missing runs, if the lumi reporting was down. The later ones seems to the experiments and are corrected if the lumi calculation was changed. I guess it is quite easy to say which one you should trust. There is a 3rd one from the, which is at least more up to date, ...

Re: new particle with 750 GeV
Nice study about background issues at high energy for di photon signals. https://indico.cern.ch/event/466926/contributions/2254437/attachments/1315541/1970590/perez.pdf Often only statistical significance is discussed, but especially here the background model is in this case not just a simple fit, m...

Re: 2016 operation
The turn around time decreased now to 3 hours, great!! In the morning meeting slides are some curves for optimal fill length for 4h and 5.8h TAT for different fills. slide 15 https://indico.cern.ch/event/549118/contributions/2226174/attachments/1314621/1968965/lhc-mm-25JUL16_WH.pdf An always optimum...

Re: 2016 operation
CMS should just past 17/fb. Record day on monday with over 600/pb. As I had wrote 20/fb till MD1, I just realized that this should be impossible. But now still 6 days left till tuesday morning. So my my over optimistic guess it is not out of reach. After MD1 there are still more than 10 weeks, 40/fb...

Re: 2016 operation
What a perfect week so far, 4 fills dumped by OP in a row. Far above 400/pb per day. Already 2.8/fb in this week. So plan is now 24h fills with >500/pb like this week. So a perfect week could now achieve 3-3.5/fb. Amazing:-) I am an optimist we will see 20/fb before MD1 (in 17 days) :-) My old guess...

Re: CMS and ATLAS luminosity: are they jealous?
Looks like CMS completetly recalculated the online lumi. This plot shows 1/fb more: http://cms-service-lumi.web.cern.ch/cms-service-lumi/publicplots/int_lumi_per_day_cumulative_pp_2016OnlineLumi.pdf than this one, which would was the trend till yesterday: http://lpc-afs.web.cern.ch/lpc-afs/LHC/2016/...

Re: 2016 operation
30/fb is quite pessimistic, isn't? As I said 40/fb is optimistic, so in between 35/fb is realistic;-)

Re: CMS and ATLAS luminosity: are they jealous?
Atlas had some Lumi measurement problems in the last fill. With the wrong lumi data CMS equals to Atlas for integrated. Suprisingly the instant lumi in todays fill is now equal, too.

Wild? Taking the data from one month and assume the same for the rest of the year. I guess it will be not that wrong finally.

Re: 2016 operation
Both experiments reached 10/fb today. Compared to the plan they pushed from 2 weeks behind end of may to 3 weeks in front the projection.http://lhc-commissioning.web.cern.ch/lhc-commissioning/images/2016/lumi-proj-16-27June.png What can we expect for the year and run 2? Optimistic would be something...

Re: What are the current records for LHC fills?
All records in one fill, longest fill after 37h operator dump. Finally 737/pb for ATLAS and 710/pb for CMS. Ini Lumi see above.
